In an extension of an earlier study we employ Dunning's eclectic paradigm (OLI) to shedrnlight onto low fare airlines' (LFA) internationalization strategies. In addition to 31 EuropeanrnLFA, we also analyze the internationalization strategies of 41 LFA in the Asia-Pacific region.rnOur results provide support for our earlier findings that indicate that in Europe ratherrnhomogenous groups of LFA emerge with regard to their internationalization strategies andrnthat capital and ownership structure as well as relative timing seems to be especially closelyrnrelated to their entry modal choice. Even though the Asia-Pacific airlines operate under arnsignificantly less liberal regulatory regime, their internationalization strategies resemble thosernof their European counterparts. We therefore formulate propositions for future research andrndiscuss inferences for the use of the OLI paradigm in further studies of airlinerninternationalization.
