One of the main damages caused by oxidative stress (tropospheric ozone, active species of oxygen, UV-radiation) and atmospheric pollutants is represented by their impact on skin and eyes of human beings. Even if such tissue exhibit a special tendency to resist against many agents of chemical degradation, some of their layers having a protein structure are very sensitive by means of aromatic aminoacids contained when they are exposed to UV-VIS solar radiation, The paper aims to study the effect of UV radiation on some essential aminoacids by spectral methods (UV-VIS-NIR and FT-IR). The structural changes caused by the evolution of intermediates and products during irradiation are interpreted in terms of mechanism of destructive reactions simulating the real process.
