All previous analysis of condensation process were focused on descendent film formation, having a vanishing thickness with respect to the tube diameter, when Nusselt approach could be used. If the thickness of the film is not any more negligible and the vapour phase flows in countercurrent with the liquid phase, like in a vertical condenser of a heat pipe, the dynamics of both phases in contact is determinant on heal transfer. This paper present a model for the heat transfer process taking into account the dynamics of the two phases when the descendant liquid film is restrained by the ascendent vapour current. The breaking of the liquid is very important to the bottom of the condensing tube.
