During the last 40 years the plastics industry has found a way to solve many problems by using reactive extruders. By consequence, modeling of reactive extruders became very important in order to choose favorable operating conditions and avoid costly experiments. It requires a resolution of the interactions between the various flow conditions encountered in the extruder, the kinetics of the reaction and the possible modifications in the viscosity and the molecular mass of the reactive system. This paper is an attempt to present a survey of recent literature on the modeling studies for various polymer systems.
