How Ready is Renewable Energy? A Review on Renewable Energy and Fuel Cell Teaching in Schools

The use of renewable energy sources presents a way to deliver secure and affordable power systems, expand the current selection of fuels, and decelerate the depletion of fossil fuels. Renewable energy sources also affect the socio-economic situation of humans. Hydrogen fuel cell is among the most potential sources of renewable energy. Having a wide selection of fuels can improve energy security. Renewable energy also offers environmental and economic benefits to various sectors, primarily in power generation, machineries, transportation, and electronic devices. The introduction, acceptance, and application of renewable energy technologies suitable for local circumstances are crucial in fighting global climate change. However, these technologies may greatly affect those economies that are merely consumers of such technologies (especially third world countries). This paper reviews the literature on renewable energies education, particularly fuel cell teaching in schools, as well as discusses the issues faced and the optimum duration of related programs. The authors also offer suitable approaches for designing and developing a module for the cost-effective teaching and learning of renewable energy.
