摘要

Amid of engineering globalization, teaching approach is one of the key factors to determine good outcomes. An innovative approach to engineering education was emerging tremendously, including service learning. Multidisciplinary Engineering Service in Community (MESIC) is an engineering service learning program that was designed based on five principles (student-centered, multidisciplinary, the community served, engineering design, and partnership). This pilot study has involved undergraduate students and crafted by Problem-Oriented Project Based Learning (POPBL). The aim of this paper was to investigate the experiences, attitudes, and perceptions of different engineering student's background undertaking the service learning program. This paper provides an overview of the MESIC program as well as the inclusion of the practices and student outcomes in the aspect of collaborative practice competency from the multidisciplinary learning nature.
