An influence of longitudinal load on the crack growth rate in an isotropic elastic-plastic body under biaxial loading is discussed. As a result, the relationship between the crack growth rate and maximum sizes of monotonic and cyclic plastic zones is derived from the dependence of the crack growth on alternating plastic strains near the crack edge. Comparison of the computational results and experimental data confirms this relationship for different cyclic loading conditions at infinity.
