Application of Agent-Based Virtual Environment for Designing of a Network for Collaborative Life-Long Learning in Bulgaria

摘要

This paper presents concepts about the application of software agents in virtual environment for LLL in Bulgaria and on their base a network is organized. In the Center of the network an agent-based model of collaborative learning environment is developed. The use of computer-based teaching agents or pedagogical agents as they are often called is an essential part in the proposed model, which illustrates how learners can study through peer interaction in an interconnected environment. If the learner can interact not only with the instructor but also with his peers, the learning comprehension can be improved. The way a learner understands a topic can be applied as the same approach for other learners with similar difficulties. Collaborative learning is achieved between the instructor and the learners or among learners through pedagogical agent interaction. Students learn in Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) environments that will help them to acquire knowledge in adjacent areas. New principles of education and proposed approaches are in a process of implementation at Varna Free University in Bulgaria.
