The Personalities in Copyright: Digital Technology and the Idea of Creation

摘要

This paper investigates the social revolution initiated by digital technology to make some recommendations about the future shape of copyright law in the Digital Age. It seeks to show some of the ways in which digital technology hasaltered the roles and relationships of the "personalities" in copyright, leading to a radically new significance forcopyright law. It argues that an awareness of these changes is central to maintaining the relevance of copyright in anenvironment characterized by the widespread use and availability of digital technology. At the same time, it is anessential first step towards the realization that copyright potentially has a role to play in the smooth navigation ofsocial change in the Digital Era.
