Institute Engineering Medal is awarded to Derek Sugden

Derek Sugden has been awarded the Institute's Engineering Medal in recognition of "his outstanding contributions to the acoustic design of auditoria and his inspirational thinking in promoting excellence in acoustic consultancy". He was presented with the biennial award by Bridget Shield, IOA President, at a ceremony in London. Below is a citation from Colin English, a former President. It is an honour for members of the Institute to have Derek Sugden in their midst today, for Derek is a man who has inspired many generations of acousticians, architects and engineers.
