Passing of 'audio giant' Neville Thiele

The audio industry is mourning the death of Neville Thiele, one of its leading pioneers, who has died in his native Australia aged 91. Neville is best known as the inventor of the Thiele-Small parameters. These were originally published in 1961 and, after repub-lication by the Audio Engineering Society in 1971 and subsequent extension of the work by Richard Small in his influential papers in 1972, are now universally accepted as the standard means of characterising loudspeaker components.
