I really liked "Are you Ready for Takeoff?" in the September issue because I am usually confused by what servos I should put in my planes. It's nice to know where I can use a less powerful servo and save a little cash. My question is this: what are some easy, secure ways to mount small servos? If you screw them into place do you have to use the rubber grom-mets that come with them? We appreciate the feedback, Steve. Yes, you should use the rubber grommets that come with the servos when you use screws to attach them to wood servo mounts; the grommet reduces vibration and the brass eyelet that's usually inserted into the grommet prevents you from over-tightening the screw. Other good ways of attaching servos are with double-sided tape, epoxy, hot glue and CA. With any of these methods, you should first wrap the servo with masking tape so you can more easily remove it. Also, be sure that the glue you use is compatible with your airframe! Good luck.
