In much the same way as FM took over AM radio frequencies, a recent development has changed the way we fly. The new 2.4GHz radios already show signs of dominating the market, and for good reason. Who wouldn't like to just go and fly without checking the frequency board for an open channel? And there are other advantages to this new frequency band such as the security of knowing that most radio interference will fall into a band that is well below 2.4GHz. Does this mean you'll never have radio interference? No—but with a 2.4 GHz radio system, the chance of interference is much, much, less than with a comparable 72MHz radio.
