Sevenoaks School's ambition is to inspire the next generation of scientists. The Science and Technology Centre brings together previously disparate disciplines, with 30 glass-fronted laboratories, workshops and technicians' spaces opening onto a three-storey daylit atrium, lined with display vitrines. Activity is visible all around, encouraging curiosity and collaboration.The Global Study Centre's south-facing cafe creates a new hub, with sophisticated study, educational and social spaces above.The building is conceived as a science workshop - a place for experimentation and discovery. Daylit and naturally ventilated throughout, it has a robust interior of expressive structure, evident construction and natural materials. It is also remarkably transparent, with views through and out to the beautiful landscape of Knole Park.
