The Student Centre demonstrates UCL's commitment to creating one of the most exciting universities in the world at which to study and work. The brief required a truly student-focused building to support their needs and learning.The Student Centre sits on what was the last piece of undeveloped land on Gordon Street, next to the Bloomsbury Theatre. The site had been vacant since World War II, when bomb damage destroyed the previous buildings. The adjacent Georgian terraces to the south are Grade II-listed and to the north-west, the Grade I Wilkins Building dates from shortly after the university was founded in 1826.
