The Moss Vale Railway Bridge, Manchester, is a three-span reinforced concrete deck structure on the busy Manchester-Warrington commuter line. Installing a sacrificial anode corrosion-protection system was a technical and logistical challenge. Installation work on the central span could only be undertaken between midnight on Saturday and 8am on Sunday owing to rail traffic.
