Based in Rugby, Twintec was formed in 1997 as a UK subsidiary of the Luxembourg-based Twintec International Group to promote the development and application of advanced steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) technology within the construction industry. The Twintec International team has been involved with SFRC since 1980. In January 1988, it received its first UK contract to design and build a two-storey car park in Clacton-on-Sea. Since then, the company has designed and built well over 1 million square metres of jointless industrial flooring. Clients have included Carlsberg Tetley, Iceland, DHL, Saint-Gobain, Ikea, B&Q, Tesco, Sainsbury and the MSAS Global Supply Chain Solutions Group. With an annual turnover of around £9m, Twintec International has laid floors in countries as far apart as Korea and Canada.
