For spans over 9 m, post-tensioning should be considered.rn2. Eliminating drops results in simpler falsework and formwork arrangements, enabling rapid floor construction and giving maximum flexibility to the occupier.rn3. The benefits associated with flat slab construction may well outweigh those of other structural solutions, which could be more complicated, time-consuming and ultimately more costly.
