But MCI Worldcom Advanced Networks says a link can be had for less: Its Remote Office service lets net managers connect remote offices, branch locations, and telecommuters at up to 128 kbit/s through a single local dial-up link. The two-part payoff? No more shelling out for unused capacity on dedicated connections, and big savings in usage charges, since all users can share a single line rather than making multiple calls to headquarters.
