They're a network manager's dream: End-to-end services from a single carrier that integrate voice, data, and video traffic. At first glance, it looks like that dream may be coming true. Sprint Corp. (Kansas City, Mo.) announced one such offering last July, followed by MCI Worldcom Inc. (Jackson, Miss.) in September, and AT&T (Basking Ridge, N.J.) in January. Each promises to cut costs and deliver bandwidth-intensive applications to the desktop with assured service quality.
