Its 700 series switch packs RISC processors embedded in custom silicon on every port, letting it deliver up to 500,000 simultaneous TCP/IP sessions at wire speed, according to the vendor. That means company Web servers can handle more customers and wait on them more quickly, so surfers are less likely to lose patience and take their business elsewhere.
