Paddle Angle and Ball Spin in Table Tennis

摘要

The relationship between the impact angle of a table tennisball with respectto the paddleand angular velocityof the ball leaving the paddlewas investigated.A table tennisball was dropped onto a paddleoriented at impact angles ranging from 10°to 80°.It was found that the sine of the impactangle isproportional to the angularvelocityof the ballas it leaves the paddlefor all impact angles tested.
