摘要

In this paper, a new structural damage detection approach based on changes in the generalised displacement is presented. The generalised displacement is first introduced, its curvature and change are then used to detect structural damage location. Compared with the conventional approach using the original displacement, the generalised displacement method is more effective and is more robust to the noise factors in this new approach. Finally, a numerical example for two-span beam is used to illustrate the effectiveness of this proposed method.
