Interview with Linda Trevino-Academy of Management Ethics Ombudsperson

Linda K. Trevino is Professor of Organizational Behavior, Cook Fellow in Business Ethics, and Director of the Shoemaker Program in Business Ethics in the Smeal College of Business where she has been on the faculty since 1987 (McCabe et al. 1996; Trevino 1999; 2000; 2002; 2003; 2004). She is also Omsbudperson for the Academy of Management. The Academy of Management Ethics Ombudsperson "...provides informal counseling and referrals to individuals on ethics issues; educates individuals about the Code of Ethics, Ethical Standards and the Policies and Procedures; receives and processes requests for interpretations of the Code." In this role Dr. Linda Trevino determines whether perceived violations meet the criteria for filing a complaint, dismisses complaints not covered by the Ethical Standards and provides expert advice on ethics matters to the Academy's Board of Directors. She assented to be interviewed for this special edition.
