On 22 December 2007, forty years will have passed since the first edition of the Military History Journal, Volume 1, No 1, made its appearance in print in 1967. In this eightieth edition of the journal, readers will find, as a handy reference, a summary of the main articles published in the journal to date (a regularly updated contents list is available on the South African Military History Society's website, www.samilitaryhistory.org, with online full-text access to many of the journal's older articles.
