The New Zealand Army has contracted Saab New Zealand, under a five-year agreement, to deliver a high fidelity laser-based Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS), providing the army with a proven, off-the-shelf and technically advanced training system. The USAF awarded Boeing $2.8 billion for KC-46A tanker low-rate initial production, including the first two production lots of seven and 12 planes, as well as spare parts, as well as future options. Boeing plans to build a total of 179 of the 767-based refuelling aircraft for the USAF to replace their KC-135 fleet. Boeing will begin delivering tankers in 2017.
