Polish law protects intellectual property, and the licensing of foreign brand names and products is accepted practice. Licensing is prevalent in high-tech industries, Pharmaceuticals and retail franchises. Licensed products produced in Poland may be exempt from import tariffs and excise duty. They may also benefit from classification as Polish products.
