Solid catalytic growth mechanism of Micro-coiled carbon fibers

摘要

Micro-coiled carbon fibers were prepared by catalytic pyrolysis ofacetylene with nano- sized nickel powder catalyst using the substratemethod. The morphology of micro-coiled carbon fibers was observedthrough field emission scanning electron microscopy. It was foundthat the fiber and coil diameter of the obtained micro-coiled carbonfibers is about 500-600 nm and 4-5 μm, respectively.
