摘要

The mechanical properties and thermal shock damage resistance of seven specially designed calcium aluminate bonded alumina aggregate refractory concretes were investigated. The cement and aggregate constituents were systematically varied in accordance with particle packing theory in order to examine their effects on the fracture behavior. The properties examined included: the bulk density; the elastic moduli; the fracture stress; the fracture toughness; the notched beam and work of fracture surface energies; the critical strain energy release rate and the critical value of the J-Integral; and the slow crack growth parameter, the N value.
