A METHOD OF ENHANCING THE TRANSIENT-RESPONSE STABILITY OF FAST TRANSISTOR AMPLIFIER SYSTEMS

This Report describes the principles of a class of amplifiers capable of providing a transient response much more stable than could be achieved with a negative feedback amplifier of the same rise time. The work was done jointly at Bell Telephone Laboratories and at AERE Harwell during 1964/65. The material in this report was prepared as a Bell Telephone Laboratory Internal Memorandum and was presented verbally at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference at Philadelphia in 1965. Publication as a written paper was intended, but was deferred because it transpired that two difficulties might prevent the full performance being realized in practice.
