Addendum Report: Nimbus II Satellite Radiation and Conventional Wind Data Reduction by Fourier Techniques for the Study of the Temporal--Occurrence West of Central America in June 1966

The report represents an addendum to the research report entitled 'The Temporal of June 1966 as Evidenced by Nimbus II HRIR, MRIR, AVCS and Maritime Observations'. A portion of the computer methodology was developed during the second year of investigation for the National Environmental Satellite Center. More sophisticated algorithms were elaborated during the period of estension after August, 1968. The findings of the investigation on satellite radiometric and anemometric data reduction problems are given which appeared during the study of the Temporal occurring in June 1966 in the area of Central America. Some of the more recent computer algorithms for a reduction of time series are examined, e.g., the Cooley and Tukey algorithm, and the Gentleman and Sande algorithm. The experience compiled by the research team with those computer procedures is included in the report. (Author)
