Fibre composite materials, using carbon, glass or aramid fibres in combination with epoxy resins or adhesives, are now widely used for strengthening concrete bridges. General guidance has been published by the Concrete Society in Technical Reports 55 and 57 and for specific applications by the Highways Agency.
