Concrete sleepers make light work

Derbyshire-based Stanton Bonna Concrete has won a £10million contract to provide concrete sleepers for the second section of the CTRL running into central London. The sleepers will be installed by the joint venture constructing the link, Alstom/Carillion/TSO, between St Pancras and the Southfleet Junction close to Swanscombe in Kent. The company's innovative railway products have also been used for light rail systems at Sheffield, Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham.
